1948, May, Travelled to Palestine on United Nations appointment as Municipal Commissioner for Jerusalem. June, Returned to U.S. because heavy fighting prevented his assuming duties as Municipal Commissioner.
1950, Visited Yugoslavia and Greece on a Cold War fact-finding mission for AFSC.
