Records, all pre-Separation, include: minutes of the men's meeting, 1796-1808; women's meeting minutes, 1796-1808; marriage certificates, 1796-1802; index of removals issued, 1797-1808. Record of births and deaths at Catawissa contained in the book of births and deaths for Roaring Creek Monthly Meeting, 1790-1901.

Biographical / Historical

Catawissa Monthly Meeting was established in 1795 by Philadelphia Quarterly Meeting. Its first business sessions were held in 1796. The monthly meeting was discontinued on 12mo 24, 1808, after many of its members had removed to Canada and Ohio. The remaining members were attached to Muncy Monthly Meeting until 6mo 15, 1814, when Roaring Creek Monthly Meeting was established. Thereafter, Roaring Creek included all the remaining members of Catawissa.
