William Evans, the son of Benjamin Evans ( -- ),and his wife Catherine (born ) of Birmingham, was born there on 23 September 1798(1).
He became a grocer at Birmingham(2) and was married in 1828 to Mary Binns Rees (1796-1852 qv) of Neath in South Wales(3); there were three children (4). About 1833 he became a maltster at Edgbaston, Birmingham(5).
William Evans died at Neath at the house of his brother-in-law (6) on 28 January 1839, at the age of forty(7).
