m., 1715, John Evans, of Gwynedd, Pa.*
Elder. Encouraged J. E. in his ministry. Rose early to enjoy the most precious time of the day. "The sun is the candle of the world, which calls us . . . to our several duties." Every day (not a meeting day) she used to retire about noon with the bible or some religious book, and spend a portion of her time alone. Remarkably well acquainted with the holy scriptures and in the history and writings of Friends.
Delighted to discourse with the Indians.
d. 29 Apr. 1765, Gwynedd, Pa., aged ca. 80 years.
