Short History of the Meeting
Virginia Yearly Meeting was laid down in 1843 and was accepted as a Half-Years Meeting under Baltimore. In 1912 Virginia
Half-Years Meeting became a Quarterly Meeting. Member meetings included Bethel, Black Creek, Corinth, Richmond, and Somerton.
In 1965 Black Creek, Corinth, and Somerton withdrew from Virginia Quarterly Meeting and Baltimore Yearly Meeting to join North
Carolina Yearly Meeting. In 1967 Charlottsville and Roanoke-Blacksburg joined to Virginia Quarterly Meeting. Virginia Quarterly
Meeting began meeting twice a year in 1969 and changed its name to Virginia Half-Years Meeting in 1976.
